Riverton Beach Walk

IMG_5344

Our last morning at Riverton we decided to go for a long walk in Riverton – exploring the beachfront walkways and even getting a bit lost along the way! We ended up walking through private property with signs warning “beware of the bull!” Thankfully we found our way and made it back to the holiday bach in one piece. Riverton is simply stunning! From overgrown vegetation to large rock boulders and crashing waves -the landscape was amazing.

Colac Bay, New Zealand

IMG_5250

Right down the road from Riverton sits Colac Bay.┬áThe town hugs the bay, with sandy beaches, and has a popular surf spot known as Trees- where the beach breaks to the left and right. As we were exploring the area we happened upon a surf competition that demonstrated the true flavor of the town. With one pub/cafe, caravan park, craft shop, community hall, and Marae – surfing really is their pride and joy!

Riverton, Southland

IMG_5225

This weekend I visited Riverton and Colic Bay in Southland , New Zealand… Riverton is one of the oldest towns in NZ. This little town is very remote with a handful of shops and cafes and is known for their beaches and surfing spots. The town is the perfect spot for a relaxing weekend away from Queenstown, and it’s just 2 hours drive.
