The day before I left New Zealand to head back home for a 5 week summer holiday I decided to take a little walk up Queenstown Hill to give a proper farewell to Queenstown. I was awed by stunning views and a fresh dusting of new fallen snow! It made my transition into summer a bit jolting – but it was the perfect Queenstown goodbye!
The Queenstown Gardens, located just to the side of town, have a great 18 hole frisbee golf course. A bunch of us headed into the Gardens last night after work and played 14 holes, taking just over two hours to complete. The best thing about the course is the change in vegetation throughout the 18 holes. We carried around some ciders and laughed our way though the 14 holes as we all had a few mix ups and rolling frisbees. Next time I promise to be better!
Bessie, James and I were on our way for a lazy stroll around Lake Hayes followed by wine tasting when James received a text from his friend Dean asking if we wanted to go sailing on Lake Wakatipu for the day. Talk about a nice turn of events! We met Dean down by the Frankton Marina and hopped aboard his pride and joy AKA “On the Rocks”. We had the best day sailing on the lake together. It sure was a nice way to get us in the mind set of Spring!
